Club Ride - N-S Compromise from Waller to Tomball, Aug. 25, KSU 9AM
Looks like the rain will hold off until Sunday, so let's take this ride on Saturday. It's 143 miles from the Buc-ee's in Waller to Mel's Country Cafe in Tomball the long way through the forest, with a rest stop in New Waverly. I tried to compromise on the this one, so that nobody has to ride too far to the meeting point. There is an optional 50-mile return route to Brookshire, if you are heading south for home. Some basic rules ...
1. Please carry emergency contact info in your wallet or programmed into your phone (I.C.E. contact).
2. Let's maintain a safety-minded culture: All the Gear, All the Time. Please wear the appropriate riding gear at all times.
3. All riders need to ride their own ride and are completely responsible for their own safety. Ride within your personal comfort zone at all times. We will stop at all turn-offs from the main road, if necessary, so that no one will be left behind. Always keep an eye on the rider behind you, and stop if you can't see him/her any more, and try to find out what happened!
4. Please make sure you start the trip with a full tank of gas. Plan on having enough gas to travel 125 miles from the starting point to the first gas stop. Never pass up an opportunity to get fuel when we stop for a break.
