The best thing you can do is de-canister your bike as I did on my R1100RT. The charcoal can create serious fuel system contamination. Search for Chris Harris on Youtube, he describes the issue and walks you through the entire process.
In theory the canister should only be collecting fumes not liquid. If you are still concerned you can disconnect the hose from the tank to the canister to confirm that fuel isn’t currently moving from the tank. If it’s just a canister flooded from the past I would just give it time to drain / dry out on its own which may take a while depending how much liquid it’s holding. Just overfilling the tank repeatedly can flood the canister to the point that it takes a week or more to totally dry.
It's not the tank overflow. I did lay it over on the right side, maybe the canister filled up , leaked some charcoal and clogged a hose. Maybe?
I have fuel leaking from a hose from my 1997 R 1100R. I traced the hose back to the bottom port on the charcoal canister. What advice do you have on correcting this issue?
so is this just a drain/overflow hose or is the other end connected to something?
