Ride To Eat (RTE) at BON APPETIT CAFE at 18027 Point Lookout Drive,
Houston, which is actually Nassau Bay Texas. This is straight across
the street from Space Center Houston. Everyone to arrive before 8:30 am
for breakfast.
Around 10:00 am, we'll take a ride I've designed to see the Kemah Boardwalk,
followed by the scenic water front along Todville Road in Seabrook, passing
by the historical location of the Seabrook Murder Mansion (3000 Todville
Road - Google it). It's now a gated subdivision, but it was there in the
80's. We'll pass by Ted Skeffington's road if you've been to a recent
Tech Day.
Next is a trip through the Bayport ship and terminal Port Road, over
through Clear Lake City, and finally arriving at the LONE STAR FLIGHT
MUSEUM at Ellington Field.
Group rates are $12 for Adults and $10 for Seniors or other categories.
HOWEVER, if you are a current paid member of the BMW Motorcycle Club
of Houston, your entry to the Museum is covered!!! Best reason ever to
re-up. We'll be doing a self-guided tour, plus my wife and I will do a little
dog-n-pony for the Space Shuttle Simulator that now resides in there.
They also have a Minuti Coffee Shop just inside the doors if you want
additional coffee, but you just have to keep the lids on the cup while
inside the museum.
If you need to get GAS, the least expensive Chevron in the Clear Lake
area is at 18003 El Camino Real. It's a Lucky Stop, but is $.60 cheaper
than the Chevron on NASA 1. Just a few blocks before you get to the
Cafe.
I'll need an APPROXIMATE HEADCOUNT TO GIVE Bon Appetit Cafe this week,
so if you plan to attend, PLEASE EMAIL ME AT vp@bmwclubofhouston.com to
confirm how many.
I'll try to generate a GPX and map this week, but I'm new to posting rides.
Thanks!!
