23- K1600GTL

Would anyone happen to have a front wheel speed sensor- for a 2023 K1600GTL? Or know a source for one? Maybe a used spare or you know where there's a new one? Both local Houston dealers say backorder- waiting on parts from Germany.

Mine gave up on my recent trip to the grand canyon and back. Could have been all the rain and or ice i ran thru. Either way- is dead.

And with zero time frame to get them from Germany- which is very unacceptable in my opinion. Waiting possibly months for one just doesn't really work for me. I'm scheduled to head to Montana end of next week.

It seems the sensor is very common across the bmw line.

Woodlands BMW told me maybe try calling each dealer in the USA. Because they don't have the ability to see dealer stock other than theirs.

Pretty ridiculous honestly.

I really enjoy the BMW. But hate to imagine had it been a failure that stranded me- and no parts available.

I might just have to ride the Harley for this trip. Much as I hate to do it- at least parts are available almost everywhere.

Thanks- Brian

If you have a mount for your phone there are free apps which use the GPS signal to display a speedometer or your speed digitally. Will get you by if unable to find the part. Google Maps has an option to show GPS speed but its display is tiny...

Any old phone would work for this - download the app over wifi, The app should not need connectivity to run.

Not really an option for me.

My speedometer works fine, as it reads from the back wheel.

Without the front signal, you lose ABS, Traction Control and Hill start assist. None of that's bad, really, as this is my only bike with any of that.

But, as a side effect, I lose cruise control.

Got home fine, but the two big blisters on my left hand tell me I need cruise control on this bike.

I've done 1000 mile days on my old Harleys without it, and no issue.

But the bmw grips are honestly terrible.

As much as I enjoy riding this k bike. It might just need to go to a new home, been owning less than a year, but parts unavailability just isn't acceptable on a 3 yr old bike that is meant for cross country travel.

Try beemerboneyard.com ?

No luck there

Part located and being overnight shipped.

Dealer in Oklahoma City had two in stock.

Odd, because the guy at Woodlands Premium assured me there were none available in the country.

But the lady at the OKC store, found it odd because she told me they are both owned by same group, and have access to the inventory.

Either way, at least I'll have cruise again.

This is the second time the front abs acted up. First time was within 6 hours of buying the bike and hitting rain. A few hours later it seemed to dry out and start working. And has been since last June. Until this trip and a lot of rain and ice. And it never come back to life. I've got a suspicion the sensor was bumped in Vegas when they put tires on. And has a Crack in it letting water in.

Pulled the side panel today and tested at the ABS unit with an oscilloscope and definitely no signal.

Thank y'all for all the input and places to check for the part.
