Here is the plan:
Departing on Thursday, March 14 from Buc-ee's Eagle Lake at 8:30AM and returning Sunday, March 17 (weather permitting).
Day 1 - Ride to San Antonio and onward to the Twisted Sisters (335/336/337); overnight in Rocksprings, TX; 409 miles
Day 2 - Continue to Alpine; ride to the Davis Mountains; overnight in Alpine; 436 miles
Day 3 - Big Bend loop and River Road Ride; overnight in Alpine; 382 miles
Day 4 - Return to Houston from Alpine; 524 miles
Lodging:
Day 1 (March 14) - Historic Rocksprings Hotel 713-515-2780 - They are holding rooms for us, please call ASAP to book a room. The hotel does not have a cancellation policy, however. The owner will work with us (i.e. not charge us), as long as we cancel in advance.
Day 2 and Day 3 (March 15/16) - lodging in Alpine - Some of us are booked at the Hampton Inn. All the hotels are relatively close, so feel free to stay wherever you want. Book your room ASAP, as Spring Break is a busy season in Big Bend. Not many rooms remaining on Expedia.
