I have a 2017 R1200GS and that plug you show, on mine is attached to another plug for power. I have to use an adapter for USB power as shown in the pics attached.

 Hello, Folks.
I’m attempting to install a motorcycle dash cam, however, I’m not familiar with this bike’s power connectors (this is my first BMW). I’ve attached a photo. This unused connector is connected to a y-splitter with one of the cables I presume provides power and the other going straight up to the GPS cradle. Is this an unused power connector that I can clip into? If so, could I just order the matching connector and solder the dash cam’s power leads to it? If not, what is this connector used for? A simple alternative would be I can just use the dash cam's USB cable and plug it into the stock power port.
