The BMW Motorcycle Club of Houston has scheduled a motorcycle safety training course for 9am Saturday, July 15, at BMW Motorcycles of the Woodlands. The course will focus on safe practices for group rides, and include topics on “seasoned” rider awareness and accident scene management. Lunch will be provided, courtesy of BMW of the Woodlands. The training is part classroom, and part riding (a two hour practice ride with stops for critiques and discussion). So come on two wheels. The class will be presented by David Jones, Tour Director, Touring Adventures, LLC
The exact schedule and details are still being developed, so check back for updates. At this point the class is only for current members of the BMW Motorcycle Club of Houston, and class size will be limited. The cost (for Club members) will be nominal or free. If there is enough interest we may schedule repeat classes at later dates.
Registration for the class will open on June 30, or earlier as announced by email.

You asked us for GPS training, and we have set up two classes for your convenience. There are still seats available in both sessions. Please register online in BMW Motorcycle Club of Houston — Rides and More. (If you are not a member you will be prompted to join.)
Each session runs from 9:30am to noon, at the Trini Mendenhall Community Center, 1414 Wirt Road, Houston, TX 77055. The main focus will be on creating a route using BaseCamp on a Windows PC and transferring it to a Garmin-type GPS device. Bring along your Windows laptop, your GPS device and its connection cable so you can follow along hands-on. If you have BaseCamp on a Mac laptop, bring it to the June 3 session; a “Mac” person will be there to go over the differences with Windows. Tablet/smartphone people — you’re out of luck, but you are welcome to sit in.
