The meeting will be 7 p.m. Thursday, February 8, 2018, at the Spaghetti Western Italian Cafe, 1608 Shepherd Dr, Houston, TX 77007. Come early if you would like to have dinner and socialize!
After our regular club business I will provide an update on the Hurricane Harvey donation of $700 from the Baton Rouge BMW dealership and riding club. If you recall, I sent an email requesting nominations for the donations (including a matching club donation). I delivered those donations last Sunday and will talk about them.
Then we will have our feature presentation! It will be about a group of friends from Houston who decided to go on an adventure ride in Ecuador. An incredible and unforgettable adventure as the group experienced obstacles, hardships, thrills, and joy while falling in love with the spectacular land of unmolested nature and its beautiful people.
Our presenter, Mark Shim, will also talk about another adventure: “A Pikes Peak International Hillclimb Champion and record-setter passed away, so friends and family paid tribute by putting a team together to race the late champion’s bike on his beloved mountain, and to say the final goodbye.”
Finally, we need to renew our charter to the BMW Riders Association (BMWRA). We need to include at least 3 club members who are members of the RA. Please reply with your name and RA member number. We need to support them.
I hope you can join us!

PS. If you missed our meeting last month our presenter, Moses Mai, created a video just for our club. Here is a link to his video, “1Day2Day: Moscow to Azerbaijan“, and also a link to his ride report on ADVrider.com, “1Day2Day European Marathon 2017” (Caution: long and addicting read! 34 pages and 665 posts!)
@Moses: Very sorry to hear of your grandfather’s passing.
